and Bulbs
- In this section we share stories that come form the parents that visit our
site. These are unedited and in the parents own words.

1. There is a light bulb in our linen closet. It is very high up.
Apparently, some comforters that were on the top shelf were too close
to the light bulb, and the light bulb must have been left on for some
time. When I pulled the comforters down, I noticed about 6 burn holes
in the comforter (about 5 inches wide) and the comforter was actually
burned on to the light bulb! I can't believe it didn't catch on fire!
We were very lucky. My husband replaced the bulb with the kind that
doesn't heat up (fluorescent I think).
2. I want to let everyone know that when my oldest daughter was a
baby we went to a nice Italian restaurant. I had 2 blankets for her
that I used interchangeably, whichever one was clean that day. That
day, thank God, she was in her store bought flame resistant one because
a corner of it was barely touching the candle on the table. It was red
hot when I noticed & pulled it off. I can't even think about what would
have happened if she had been bundled in her hand crocheted non flame
resistant one. From that time on I only used that one at home where
there are no candles or flame sources around. To this day I blow out
the candles on restaurant tables (and she's 22 years old now!).
