Most of us look at child proofing like we look at an IRS audit: we hope we never have to go through it. If we do, we hope it only happens once. Have you ever looked around your once child proofed house and noticed the many hazards that have piled up like your laundry. Yet another recall has been announced regarding a playpen that can collapse and cause a child to become trapped.  An 11-month old died in Ohio in June, 2001.  There have been so many recalls regarding this style of collapsible playpens/ play yards/ portable cribs that I would not use one until I had checked the CPSC website at www.cpsc.gov  to make sure that the one I had was not recalled.  You can view the recall about the above playpen at: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml02/02008.html.
