Safety Audit
Issue 10: "Car seats, Carpools and Caregivers"

by the Paranoid Sisters

Are your kids in daycare? Do friends or family ever transport your kids? Just like with guns and pools, it is important that we know the safety habits of the people around us.

Do the people who transport your children know that children under 12 should not sit in front of an airbag? Is the car seat properly secured after it is transferred from your car to theirs? Lisa had 4 kids in car seats, so you can imagine the horror when the car seats had to be transferred. Do they know not to leave the children unattended in the car?

If you haven't already, take a look at our Car seat Baby-sitter article here. Do they know that children can die from suffocation and heat when left in the car? You don't want to find out to late that the people transporting your kids are not doing it safely.
