| Welcome to ParanoidSisters.com -- the child safety web site from Lisa Carter
and Lori Marques, moms and authors of the books Children's Games Made Easy,
Child Safety Made Easy
and its Spanish counterpart, La Seguridad del
Niño Hecha Más Fácil.

As new parents, we came across many child safety hazards of which we and our
friends had been previously unaware. Some of these child safety hazards were very surprising,
and others could have been avoided using common sense. It is sad
and startling that 3000 children, from birth to age 5, died in 1998 in the United
States due to unintentional home injuries. Your best defense is to be aware
of the many hazards that face your child, such as the ones presented in
our book, in our articles, on this site, at our child safety seminars, and through the many links provided.

The
Paranoid Sisters came to life during a camping trip many years ago when
we saw major safety violations happening all around us. One of our husbands
felt we were being overly cautious, and called us the "Paranoid Sisters" after
a particularly harrowing boat excursion. Now that we have children, our
eye for safety has naturally woven its way into our homes and habits.
We created this site to keep parents informed and to educate everyone
about the value of taking measures to ensure the safety of children. You
can:
Be sure to join our mailing list (see below) for free e-mail news and updates. While our monthly mailing will cover a broad range of safety information, we will try to highlight recall information. The death of an 17-month-old in a portable crib that had been recalled five
years earlier emphasizes the need for better communication about recalls. Also, we will have the opportunity to share the most up-to-date child safety information that may not be in the latest edition of our book.
Is there something you would like to see here? E-mail us and let us know!
And always remember: Safety first!
